1. Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. EST on January 11, 2008.

2. Sweepstakes open to legal female residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, ages 13-19 as of January 11, 2008. Employees of Hearst Communications, Inc. and JCPenney Corporation, Inc. (the "Sponsors"), participating vendors and participating record labels, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising, promotion and fulfillment agencies, and their family/household members (i.e., parents, children, spouse, siblings) are not eligible to enter.

3. Enter by providing your full name, address, city, state, zip code, phone number (with area code), date of birth, high school name, high school town and date of prom (if known). Deposit your entry in the Seventeen entry box at the JCPenney nearest you (beginning January 11, 2008), send your entry on a 3.5 x 5 card to "Seventeen Rock Your Prom" 2008 Sweepstakes, c/o Seventeen, attn: Merch Dept., 300 West 57th Street, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10019 or enter online at www.seventeen.com. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST on April 2, 2008, with mail-in entries post-marked by April 2, 2008 and received by April 10, 2008. Multiple entries are not permitted. One entry per person regardless of method of entry.

5. One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a live performance by a band or musical artist at her prom or other school function (appox. retail value: $2,000), a prom dress provided by a JCPenney vendor (appox. retail value: $150), a limousine for prom night (approx. retail value: $1,500), a professional beauty session including hair styling, manicure, pedicure and makeup application for prom night at a JCPenney Salon (within 30 miles of the winner's hometown) (approx retail value: $150), an autographed tank top, and dinner for two on prom night (approx, retail value: $200). Total approximate retail value of Grand Prize: $4,000. Ten (10) First Prize winners will receive a prom dress provided by JCPenney (approx. retail value: $150), an autographed tank top and a professional beauty session including hair styling and manicure/pedicure for prom night at a JCPenney Salon (within 30 miles of the winner's hometown) (approx. retail value: $75). Total approximate retail value for each First Prize: $225. Fifty (50) Second Prize winners will receive a Seventeen prom themed T-shirt (approx. retail value: $15). Total approximate retail value for each Second Prize: $15. Total approximate retail value of all prizes is $7,000. No substitution or replacement if any portion of the prize is unavailable to the winner for any reason. The award of the Grand Prize is contingent upon acceptance by the school named on the winner's entry form of a live prom performance. Unless the school notifies the Sponsors that it will permit the live performance within fourteen (14) days after the winner receives notification of winning the Grand Prize, that winner will forfeit the Grand Prize in its entirety and an alternate winner will be selected. The school must give the Sponsors at least sixty (60) days notice prior to the date it has selected for the live performance, which must take place no later than June 11, 2008. Some restrictions and blackout dates will apply. The live performance date will depend upon the band's availability. The band is subject to change. If the schedule of the band conflicts with the date of the winner's school prom, an alternate school function must be designated or created by the school. The Sponsors make no warranties with regard to prizes. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions of prizes allowed by winner but, the Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Prizes are not redeemable for cash.

6. All entries become the property of Seventeen Magazine and will not be acknowledged or returned. By participating in this sweepstakes, entrants agree to allow Seventeen Magazine and JCPenney to use winner's name, picture/portrait, likeness and/or voice for advertising and promotional purposes, both in print and online without further consideration, unless prohibited by law.

7. The winners will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release prior to awarding of the prizes to be signed by winners (and winner's parent/guardian if winner is under 18 years old). All taxes on prizes are the responsibility of the winners.

8. All entrants release the Sponsors, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents and all others associated with the development and execution of this sweepstakes from any and all liability from injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this sweepstakes or acceptance or use of any prize.

9. In the event that properly completed documents are not returned to the Sponsors within fourteen (14) days of postmark of notice, or notification of prize is undeliverable, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at the sole discretion of Sponsors. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners.

10. The Sponsors are not responsible for lost, late, mutilated or misdirected mail. Entries that are illegible, incomplete or otherwise not in compliance with these official rules will be disqualified.
