Sweepstakes sponsored by RD and open to legal residents of the United States and Canada (excluding the province of Quebec), their territories and possessions.  Employees and members of the immediate families of employees of RD, its affiliated or subsidiary companies, the presenting organizations, independent judging organization, and judging agents are not eligible. Entries not transferable except to a surviving spouse residing in the same household. Reader’s Digest reserves the right to terminate or modify the sweepstakes or on-line portion if at any time the Reader’s Digest on-line service is no longer available or if any fraud virus, bugs, or other intervention beyond Reader’s Digest’s control corrupts the administration or security of the promotion.  In either of these events, prizes may be awarded based on entries received prior to date of termination and mail and phone entries received as of the closing date.

Winners selected by a series of random drawings from eligible entries received, conducted by an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Winner will be determined on or about 8/15/11.

Consumer Disclosure/Award Rules: Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.  Prize values and approximate numerical odds for the Grand Prize Sweepstakes (#908): 1 Prize of $1,000,000 awarded as various annual pay out options up to 30 years (or when offered, a payment of $500,000 lump sum or if given the choice, spread over various monthly or yearly installment options) - 1 in 49,500,000.  Winner will receive only the pay out option(s) contained in the presentation to which s/he responded.  Winner will have the choice of the cash or any merchandise offered in any creative presentation of this Sweepstakes. RD reserves the right to substitute similar merchandise of equal or greater value if a particular merchandise prize is no longer available to RD.

Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use winner’s name, city and state of residence in advertising and promotional materials unless prohibited by law.  Winners may also be requested to consent to the use of their signatures, photographs and likeness in advertising and promotional materials unless prohibited by law.  All taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winner.  Winners will be notified by mail within 30 days of the drawing and may be required to execute a Statement of Eligibility and Release within 30 days of prize notification attempt or prize may be awarded to an alternate winner.  If a Canadian participant qualifies to win this prize, s/he will be asked to return by mail, her/his correct answer to a skill-testing question involving general knowledge, in order to be declared a winner and receive her/his prize. Prize won by a person under the age of 18 will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian.  No transfer or assignment of prizes permitted.  Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the USA.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.  Void where prohibited. This prize draw complies with all Canadian laws. Any prize/prize notification returned as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
